Les Pots Cassés

This June, Brisbane French Theatre invites audiences to escape to the South of France with “Les Pots Cassés”, a laugh-out-loud original summer comedy set in a sun-drenched holiday house.

On the surface it’s all lavender, pastis, saucisson and cicadas. But scratch just a little and the cracks begin to show!

Set over two weeks leading up to a wedding, “Les Pots Cassés” brings together an endearing dysfunctional family: two sisters who couldn’t be more different, the new fiancé, a sharp-tongued matriarch, a pétanque-obsessed groundskeeper, a first-time wedding planner… And an infamous absentee, whose shadow hangs over everyone and everything.

Les Pots Cassés” is a fast-paced, entertaining comedy full of sharp observations about family secrets, love and the formidable pull of the past.

With its irresistible setting, colourful characters and finely tuned dialogues, “Les Pots Cassés” promises a thoroughly entertaining night out, with just enough depth and well-placed emotional truths along the way to surprise those who look for it.

Performed entirely in French with English surtitles (subtitles projected above the stage), the show offers an immersive and accessible theatre experience for both francophone audiences and lovers of French culture, including students (schools please email us for bookings).

This show is recommended for audiences aged 15+ as it contains mature themes, occasional coarse language and sexual references.
